This policy covers the IBTrace Logger mobile app (Android and iOS) and its web dashboard, together “IBTrace”. IBTrace is a temperature/humidity data logging tool for BT05 and BT06 Bluetooth loggers, used by IceBattery and its customers to monitor and export sensor readings.
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, full name, and company name via Supabase (our authentication provider) to identify you and manage access to your data.
Device and sensor data
The app reads temperature and humidity readings, battery level, and a device identifier from BT05/BT06 Bluetooth loggers you connect to. This data is stored encrypted on your device, and — if you enable cloud sync — is also stored in our Supabase database under your account so it can appear on the dashboard and be shared across your devices.
Bluetooth and camera permissions
The app requests Bluetooth permissions to scan for and connect to loggers, and on older Android versions (before Android 12) this requires the system’s location permission as a side effect of how Android implements Bluetooth scanning — IBTrace does not read, collect, or store your device’s GPS location. Camera access is used only to scan QR codes/barcodes printed on a logger to add it to the app; no photos or camera data are stored or transmitted.
Crash and diagnostic data
We use Sentry to collect crash reports and error diagnostics so we can fix bugs. These reports may include device model, OS version, and the app state at the time of the crash, but are not linked to your sensor data.
We use the information above solely to operate the app and dashboard: authenticating you, syncing and displaying your logger data, generating exports (Excel/PDF), running on-device insights (anomaly/trend detection), and diagnosing crashes. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing.
Sensor data and account information are retained for as long as your account is active. Locally on your device, data stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Cloud-synced data is retained until you delete it or delete your account (see below).
Data in transit to our servers is encrypted (TLS). On your device, sensor data and account credentials are encrypted at rest using a key derived from your account password (Argon2id); this encrypted data is explicitly excluded from Android cloud backups so it cannot leave your device through that channel unencrypted.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time from within the app: Account → Delete Account. This is irreversible. If you no longer have access to the app, see our account deletion page for an alternative way to request deletion.
IBTrace is an industrial/professional monitoring tool and is not directed at, or knowingly used by, children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where required, notify you in the app.
